Children and young people are hugely important to us at the Tab
We aim to provide an exciting programme of activities for our youngsters, ranging from play-based fun stuff for the preschoolers to residential activity weekends for our youth.
During Sunday morning worship we welcome our children and young people to the first half of the service. They are then invited to join our dedicated team of volunteers who deliver wonderful age-appropriate sessions for the remainder of the morning.
We currently have provision for mixed age-group session called TabToo, which caters for primary school children through to year 6. This session is a creative mix of teaching, learning, playing & socialising as a church family. It takes place in our Community Rooms on site; you’re welcome to stay and settle your younger children for the first few sessions.
We are wanting to develop our facilities for very young children – we have an area at the back of the Sanctuary where small children can play; Families with babies are welcome to stay in for the whole service if they are content. We have a comfortable lounge if you would rather take them out of the service when the children leave (usually about 11am)
Young people at the Tab enjoy varied delivery styles on Sunday morning from skilled volunteers who nurture and grow our young minds. The session is held in the Vibe, a dedicated youth work space.
The Tab Family Cafe
The Tab Family Cafe is open on Wednesday mornings from 10am – 1pm. We serve fresh coffee and cake, and have a safe space for young children to play. You’re welcome to drop in for a quick brew – or spend the morning with us – everyone is welcome. There is no cost to come into the cafe – and all refreshments are accessibly priced.
We are a not-for-profit enterprise; any surplus funds are used to support the ongoing work of the Tab URC.
